Work out his dividend stream per annum and it is more than eneough for most people to live a fantastic lifestyle but not eneough to pay for basketball teams etc.
If it is the case that the loans relate to other assets and not acquiring more ABC shares then he has triggered his own demise but not the companies.
Underlying Australian assets still provide high quality govt backed income streams.
There must a base value.
