Went to woolworths the other day coz I wanted a Nannas pie. Accidentally walked away with a woolworths select apple pie. The packaging is identical. Also went to get caramel honey and nougat connoisseur ice cream. Almost got the woolworths select ice cream of identical flavour in an identical ice cream container with near identical colours.
I fail to see how the likes of Nannas can survive on woolworths shelves if PFL cant market it's pies to be a unique delicious flavour because woolworths copy the packaging to the extent you can barely pick the two apart? I think many branding is a big thing for the survival of companies like PFL and if people immitate the brands like they are then PFL will lose wny moat they have and really struggle to survive.
Not sure if the super brands like ccl will suffer quite as badly given their huge out of home market share and global marketing campaigns.
