Newtothegame, those two posts are your best yet!!!
Thanks for providing the 'Community Service'
I guess it will help the likes of yourself and others (ie a number of Journo's, particularly those from the Herald Sun) that can not read financial statements correctly.....cause if you could you would have clearly seen the Stella Debt listed in the 2007 report as per IAS.
To save you some time, go to the 2007 Annual Report and refer to the following,
Page 51 - 'Stella -discontinued'
Page 52 - 4. Segment Reporting
Page 53 - 4. Segment Reporting
Page 57 - 9. Assets and liabilities classified as held for sale and discontinued operations.
Page 58 - as above
You couldn't exactly say that it was hidden considering it features on 5 pages of the report, states clearly what and why it has been accounted in this way etc etc.
The MFS mistakes we are aware of (so far anyway),
1/ Should have sold Stella down to 50% on previous offer.
2/ Should not have gone with the 500m cao raising as recommended by UBS.
The other prob's have been as a result of the collapse of the share price.
Speaking of mistakes....I've certainly made my fair share over the last 2mths.
Time will tell.
