Just to pass the time I counted the frequency of market sensitive announcements released on each day of the week to see if there was a pattern to the timing of news.
Came up with the following:
Monday: 21%
Tuesday: 17%
Wednesday: 46%
Thursday: 8%
Friday: 8%
Interestingly, based on past trends, Wednesday is the most likely day for news.
Even more interesting though, when you the frequency vs weekday in a column chart it looks remarkably like ADV is giving you the big one-fingered salute.
