After re-reading those announcements it seems that the original drill schedule was to drill to the top of the Niobrara at 4000 feet. I assume that this was because they hoped to be producing from the Pierre formation and could re-enter the Niobrara at a later time. Since there was nothing to speak of in the Pierre it looks like they are going to drill to 5000 feet, through the Niobrara. Would still be a good result if there is oil and/or gas in the Niobrara at this location. That's my take on things anyhow.
