Speaking of stuffing around on an airliner....I was working in Jeddah for the Saudi national airline- when a Pakistan airliner crashed not long after takeoff. The story on the grapevine, and entirely believable in my experience....a couple hajji passengers in the back decided to cook up some tea with the stove they brought along....stove, fuel, idiots, lighting up at around 8-9000 ft cabin pressure.....The flames shot up, maybe a panicky fuel spill added to it, and starting burning the back end of the cabin. Net result...everyone in the plane ran forward to the cockpit door....at which point the aircraft pitch (707) was....decidedly downwards. Crashed in the desert - no survivors...
