For a start ..... Point One All children should be funded from the states coffers for an education through taxation distribution. Agreed? Whether a taxpayer is rich or poor, pays tax or does not, in any one year their children are entitled to such education. Some recipients of education of their dependents pay no tax at all. The people willing to have their children educated at an institution of their choosing should be entitled to a per capita contribution from the government equal to the average per capita spend Australia wide at the very least before any 'special needs' claim and intervention fir that child. The children of wealthy taxpayers are funded (and should be) by the state in Public /State schools when they choose, and so should be in any Private Schools. Its not as if the tax contributions of the 'rich' (who contributed more tax per capita) are being fully/ proportionally re -distributed. It us amusing to hear so much of modern politicking on about 'equity' and make such a mish mash of its application.

It is rather perverted to state that not providing any funding to a child's education is somehow fair because their parents have an ability to pay to send them to a private school, when they are the very people providing the bulk of the tax receipts to pay for all education funding!
