I love string bags ... I bought one a few years back ... kept patching it by tying the strands together when they broke. One thing that was evident is that they don’t seem to make them as tough as they used to.
Let’s see ... a new industry will pop up dealing with shopping bags.
The shopping bags I ‘take’ to the shops I bought online in packs of 4/5 quite a few years ago. They were the Envirocycle bags and fit 3 plastic bags worth of groceries in them. They are extremely tough, not so the little one I bought recently in a little zip pack to always carry with me. The only problem with my older ones is that I have to keep telling the staff to keep stuffing the groceries to the top ... being used to their flimsy plastic bags, they were unaccustomed to ‘filling’ a bag to the top.
