No prospects for mineral sands on Flinders

A Queensland minerals company says it is disappointed with the results of a mineral drilling program on Flinders Island.
Diatreme Resources has been searching for mineral sands on Flinders Island but cut the drilling program short.
Exploration manager David Jelley says they will now concentrate on heavy mineral sands and scheelite exploration on King Island.
"We're looking for mineral sands once again," he said.
"It's different geology, and as I say, it does have known occurrences of minerals sands and so we're hoping that those are repeated on our ground."
Mr Jelley says the exercise was not a total waste of effort.
"It was one of the most enjoyable exploration programs that I have done to date," he said.
"The people were very hospitable and friendly.
"It was a beautiful place to an exploration program in the middle of summer."
