Botkiller, Joe Public doesn't need to get ripped off if they ignore the fluctuations and invest long term. As Pbnewby said the value of Santos does not depend on the price of oil today.
I personally like to see low oil prices, hopefully they stay low right through until GLNG starts ramping up as this will ensure they get decent prices for the full output, I am not predicting that though. Too many short term speculators playing with the price for their own reasons so I may be disappointed if the price rises sooner.
