I am a novice here, but couldn't this stagnation simply be due...

    I am a novice here, but couldn't this stagnation simply be due to a heap of people jumping on board a little late hoping for a quick profit and then selling out after the decline in the market and/or keeping some stocks in and trying to buy back at a lower prices?
