It is not in the best interests of shareholders for directors to decide on a share buyback, especially in uncertain market conditions.
Enduring shareholders have suffered negative returns for too long. They deserve an immediate capital return to be paid which represents an equitable distribution of proceeds from realisation of the sugar assets part of their company (In contrast, any benefits from a share buyback would be deferred and not certain).
