If I were an investigator with an old pin board covering Epstein and Trump there would be several intersections radiating from Dershowitz's photo.
Dershowitz points to unlawful conflicts of interest likely impacting many previous administrations. Perhaps that is the real "swamp" that needs to be drained.
However the fact that personal interest "deals" and other conflicts of interest may have happened in the past in no way excuses Trump's unlawful behaviour in the present. The lesson needs to be learned and Trump found guilty of what he has essentially confessed to. From that point onwards US politics needs to move on in alignment with an enforces code of ethics.
