Possibly (but only speculation) the increase in sp may be in response to announced cutbacks to elective surgery in NSW. "Non urgent elective surgery will be suspended in NSW for at least a month" (Weekend Aus). Presumably other States currently being smashed by Covid may follow suit, this could mean less outgoings for MPL.
