Well, Republican hard man Tom Cotton seems to feel that the US should be getting way more aggressive:
Senator Cotton then warned "it is very dangerous when you allow our adversaries like Russia and China and Iran to try to upend the status quo." "And all we do is have strongly worded speeches or some mealy-mouthed sanctions," he lamented.
Senator Cotton stressed on Sunday that he believes Putin has the mentality that the "timing is right" to achieve his goal to "reassemble" the Greater Soviet Empire.

"..and NOT the Mexican border"
Mind you, Tom thinks that Russia is massing it's troops on the US border, so ....go figure.
"That's what Vladimir Putin has always wanted," Cotton said. "So why is it that now he has put 100,000 troops on our border?"
