I am not too sure about your comments on Orbis.
You sound like you are trying to spook people here as your comments are baseless.
Yes. Orbis was buying into some "distressed" ones like VPG, MDT, el al. However, the current market price of these companies/the prices they paid for only represent 5-10% (even lower now) of the NTA of these companies.
I don't think Orbis is going to lose in the end, even if such companies do go into liquidation. The same goes for us who bought at similar level or even higher.
As value investor, Orbis holds such stocks long term (eg. CER @above 32c and now only around 6c). They are not short-term punters like many of us at HC. They've done their homework and bought at least until Feb 4. before the announcement of becoming major shareholder.
The very conservative estimate of residual value for shareholders in the case of VPG still suggest above 20c net equity in a liquidation scenario.
So, pls substantiate your comment before you post them.
Everyone here has due responsiblility in contributing to a equitable and efficient stock market though the market is no where like that at the moment.
