@pintohoo Up to a point, I have to agree with you. so: what is the cure for stupidity? is there a cure? I actually believe being human endows us all with a modicum of intelligence which is there to be used - or not (as is the case with lazy people) - only very few people are born 'stupid' - if there is such a thing at all - just being human, makes us so much more capable than our animal co-habitants.
I believe putting children through challenges at school, unexpected ones, is a good start. I believe we can 'train' people to be ready for a challenge, to be open for change, to see opportunities where others only see fear and danger.
But then, as old as I am, I am an optimist - only brain-damaged, perhaps deeply traumatised, people, seem to be incapable of change, and they hold on to what they see as 'tried and true' attitudes in order to feel safe. I think there is something of this psychology going on for some on this thread.
