Michael Mann has often protested about Eliot Jacobson being an alarmist and extremist. This is where the honest debate about climate science can be found.
There's also some discussion between James Hansen and Micheal Mann.
I hope Michael Mann is right and the others are wrong, I'm not qualified to judge anywhere near that level but from watching this over the last 18 months or more I'm leaning to Hansen's side which seems to be that the recent warming is evidence of a higher ECS rather than a short term post El-Nino response from the unmasking of the cooling from shipping's sulfur emissions.
As is the nature of climate we will only know with reasonable certainty over the next few years or even longer.
