Trust a denier of anthropogenic global warming to get into a semantical argument about ocean acidification.
anything but acknowledge the simple reality: if something becomes less alkaline it becomes more acidic.
as per usual, i can't rely on anonymous deniers on an equities blog site to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth., since they've already made a decision that trashing science is fine and doesn't matter so long as the profits and revenue of fossil fuel producers can continue forever.
that's the main thing. Science, one of the pillars of our civilization, is just collateral damage.
the profits of fossil fuel companies is the only thing that matters.
so, rather than accepting denier pseudoscience, i do my own reading. And what better place to start than NOAA
in an article headed "Ocean Acidification" here below in part is what NOAA says on the issue.
NOAA from NOAA.GOV:
"In the 200-plus years since the industrial revolution began, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has increased due to human actions. During this time, the pH of surface ocean waters has fallen by 0.1 pH units. This might not sound like much, but the pH scale is logarithmic, so this change represents approximately a 30 percent increase in acidity."
even a denier must be able to log that: NOAA says a slight reduction in the pH of the ocean increases its acidity.
