David Attenborough is no doubt one of the best humans of the 20th Century, I rate him possible second to Mandela and ahead of Churchill and Churchill is only on the list for consequences of WWII rather than personal humanity. (If we were to rate by consequence rather than humanity then Alan Turing might have to be at the top).
He changed our perception of our place amongst life on earth and educated people about the magnificent complexity of the natural world. Jane Goodall was another courageous and remarkable pioneer.
It's a shit world we now live in were the very best of us have become political targets of convenience because the worst of us see that attacking them is an advantage. The pile on that follows this post will no doubt amplify the truth of this.
