when I was there, there was a ? couple I think. Who made a living collecting things. They use to go about in a landing barge. They used to find all kinds of things - canoes, zillions of fishing floats - the big glass ones, - they could have started a museum really.

As to thongs, well, we now know why there's billions of thongs - it's because immigrants coming ashore lose their thongs when they get stuck in the mud wading ashore. It also accounts for why there're no dingos in Tasmania - lots of thongs there to from immigrants - and of course, they ate all the dogs.
