''it will never happen''
I love it when the vacuous say that 'it will never happen' - it's a guarantee that it more than likely will -''
Talking about vacuous - how about all those apocalyptic climate events that NEVER HAPPENED despite much gnashing of the teeth by the climate alarmists

With everything that's happening, this has to be the most interesting article/blog post in 2021. Written 2 years ago by
Steven J. Milloy, titled '
Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions', the post covers 50 failed eco-pocalyptic predictions.
The purpose of this article is to enlighten others on the
motivated reasoningthat is taking place in the media about global warming and the environment. Of course, this view is of my own and you may disagree but at least consider the historic news articles linked to the points before you make up your mind.
In my point of view, this should be the base to why we should care for the environment but not be dramatic or take drastic measures that ruins our wellbeing and economic welfare.
Before you ask, I believe that these motivated reasoning are placing choices in our hands that we do not decide for ourselves, if that holds any sense. Consider the most recent events in the UK:
- Shortage of petrol and diesel (2 months ago), now petrol has risen from 1.35p in Sept 21 to 1.45p Nov 21 (
https://www.racfoundation.org/data/uk-pump-prices-over-time)
- ULEZ is being widen and soon to extended outside the M25 (
https://www.which.co.uk/news/2021/10/extended-london-ulez-in-operation-from-today/)
- Standard 95 petrol changes to E10 (
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/e10-petrol-explained)
Are we not already doing what we can? Maybe the real concern is our consumer habits such as the desire to buy things we don't need. Going back to making choices, you are now being penalised (£12.50) for not having a newer car because it is deemed bad for the environment, that's exact what it is, no point of sugar coating the situation.
