Many people laughed when people suggested that FBR could be used to build the USA/Mexico Border Wall. Who would have thought building a WA Border Wall would have been a possibility a few months ago. To be honest, I think it's highly unlikely, but if the WA Premier is using the phrase "WA is now considered its own country" well it might catch on. I'm not sure about the economics, but WA does contribute significantly to Federal revenue via mining operations. Could WA hold a referendum and declare itself a country and therefore no longer contribute GST, Royalties, and other Tax Revenue to the Federal coffers? If the idea catches on then WA is going to need a new name and perhaps a new wall, any suggestions?

"In a referendum in April 1933, 68% of voters voted for the state to leave the Commonwealth of Australia with the aim of returning to the British Empire as an autonomous territory. The State Government sent a delegation to Westminster, but the British Government refused to intervene and therefore no action was taken to implement this decision.[49]"
