Even on that facebook page they mentioned about the fact that Coal Power stations will still exist, even with Gas coming in. I'm not sure that is correct, because at the moment there is no alternatives to the coal stations NSW and VIC have running.

Find cheap gas, and we can get more Gas Fired Power stations. What they should note is that with new gas supplies, the new power stations that will be built to suppy the rapidly increasing power demands (which note actually help power their computers to access the facebook page LOL), that we won't need to build any Coal Fired power stations, and may actually be able to convert or fade-out the exising ones!

I think in Victoria with the ETS the state was talking about providing incentives to switch to GAS fired. If gas is discovered off NSW and NSW gets their own supply it should mean we don't have to send BASSGAS north and can use it in Victoria.
