re: no vaccine for deafness (graphs fixed) at the moment cochlear implants are aimed at the newborn.this is helped by the fact that in NSW anyway, the NSW government will pay the $25,000 cost
Cochlear will aim more at the older population. an implant is superior to a hearing aid. a hearing aid simply amplifies sound wheras an implant is a computer that turns noise into sound. the new ones sit behind the ear..there is no douby that the older population is a market which Cochlear would like to develop.
