My view discounts the use of ADF... they;'re used for war... although ADF medical personnel would have been very appropriate. Security people are largely glorified bouncers. They don't engender respect and the proof of this is that security staff bonked people in quarantine... they just don't have professional discipline. Police should have been used as they are mandated to act professionally and to protect people... yet the discipline seems to be falling in priority these days with bashings and shootings increasing... yet this is not the general rule among police imo... the majority, I hope, maintain their discipline and see their job as protecting people and the general community. In the Towers... police should have been augmented with medical and social staff to ensure appropriate care was taken for all. All Govts have deficiencies... all approaches are taken as cheaply as possible these days. Small Govt practices mandated out-sourced security for the quarantine and this was the Big Mistake. NSW allowed ABF to make the decision to release passengers from the Ruby Princess... this was a bigger error than any that Vic Govt has made. ABF are merely bouncers in black uniforms.

police may have been the best option, but with everything else going on they maybe running short of manpower. The police in all the states have their usual problems to contend with, then along comes Covid-19.
