History will show there were multiple strategies to try to handle the Covid-19 Pandemic. None proven in advance.
The continuum lies somewhere between dictatorial measures taken by China and liberal measures not taken by the US and Brazil.
NZ for all intents and purposes achieved elimination and Australia had that at its fingertips. Elimination means unpalatable ongoing international isolation until (if ever) a vaccine is found.
Herd immunity is just as likely another unpalatable strategy, probably taking 5 or more years and several million deaths to achieve in a country like the US.
There should be decades of research material embedded in medical records associated with the global infections and deaths recorded on the WorldCoronsVirus data base.
Nobody and no country has the answers right now.
So again, fixating on the Victorian Premier for an outbreak no doubt linked to multiple bureaucratic, political and community mistakes is just unhelpful indemnity politics by the usual suspects in this thread.
