IANAL, but I think it would be hard to argue that presenting an alternative view to the Pfizer line being pushed by the BOD is manipulation. I seem to remember there is a point of law regarding one party having significantly more bargaining power than the other, given that contract law assumes both parties have equal bargaining power.
