I have substantially re-worked the last paragraphs to make the call to action stronger and broader. Not everybody will understand the importance of the head count. Small holders tend not to bother with attempting to vote because they believe they can't make a difference. I want to overcome this apathy.
@FredP I noted your comment about not breaking the sentence at "But" and I agree that doing what I did there (and here too) is grammatically questionable. But I want short, punchy, direct statements here (see what I did there). This is the part of the letter where I want to pound any apathy into insensibility with a series of rapid, sharp strikes. A longer sentence with a subjunctive in the middle feels a bit too rambly for this part.
I think we're nearly there with the letter. Keep the ideas flowing!
