I was in the same predicament myself many years ago and Hawkeye (my lovely wife) who is very clever, did this to me all those many years
ago. I did have a few dud investments, before she put her foot down as per my previous posting.
Anyway I came home one day and she said I want you to count this and handed me a bundle of $20 notes. She had been to the Bank and drew out $1,000. I counted and said $1,000. She said come with me, she took me into the toilet and opened the lid and said put all the notes in there and flush the toilet. I was sort of stunned and finally said no. She said well that is what you are doing with those shares if you keep hold of them any longer in my opinion she said. Most people she said just can't bring themselves to sell even though they know they have lost most of their investment. It was a salient (light bulb) moment for me. I asked her if I had put them into the toilet and pressed the button would you have stopped me. No she said. She said the lesson would have been the best lesson i could ever give you. She took me back into the family room and spread the $1,000 over a table near me and kept them there for the rest of the evening, so I had to look at them. She could see that I was really quite upset at her tactics and she is both cunning and smart. She went and got me a cold beer gave me a kiss and said life is hard, decisions are hard, but you have to face reality, but to have some money is better than no money.
Maybe you should go to the toilet with the same amount of money you have left in Olivers, open the lid and decide what you should do. It is a very sobering moment having done it myself.
But as always Dmcd you are in control of your own destiny and only you can make the decision which works best for you. If you think there is a magic fairy out you may want to keep them, no matter what, you will come up with the best decision that works best for you.
Hawkeye gives talks to local RSL Clubs, Woman groups, Church groups and others. She brings up this story and I have asked her not to say it when i am there. No she firmly says woman know what i am talking about and honesty is always the best.

thanks for the advice but I still think o can be turned around if the right steps are taken. at this stage its a gamble with better odds than buying some lotto tickets. I can cope with a total loss but if they did manage to turn around after I had sold I think I would jump out the window.
