    The word TALIBAN derives fron an ALBANIAN imam who had escaped the communist rule and had gone to Jordania where he had opened an islamic institution. It was very fanatical islamic teaching and those who graduated from there were known "The Albanians" followers...
    The Albanian in Arabic became TALIBAN....
    That name was not in use prior to the arrival of the Albanian imam to the Middle east. It's neither an Arabic nor an Afghani word.
    Today of-course it's synonymous with the extremely fanatical brand of islam.....
