Maybe the overall intention is to use the term 'global warming' for us sensitive human beings, because if they used the real term of whats happening 'global cooling' the human race would become extinct far sooner. That would be a far scarier scenario and we know we would all die so they put a positive spin on it such as 'we're bloody freezing but overall it's hotter, keep positive'? Psychology at its best.
