It was “True Story”, just like a short person may be given the nickname “ Lofty” or a bald man maybe called “Curly”!

I’m a firm nonbeliever but if I don’t read the stories as the literal truth the premise is that of being a thoughtful and caring person.
Of course we can quote some of the, really out there bits cherry pick if you like but just like every episode of the Brady Bunch had a moral attached so does thdgood books.
