DBT9 - there is evidence there was a great flood - it's reflected in a number of even historical reports - historical insofar that Greek and Roman historians reported hearing those stories from one of their then subject peoples - I think recently someone found evidence in ancient Egyptian texts (as in: hieroglyphs on rock) of a flood which affected neighbouring peoples.
However, Mount Ararat has been searched all over - fairly recently even and even though a structure was discovered which could have been part of a large boat, it turned out not to be an ancient boat but was very ancient rock (from memory - I tried to find something on U-Tube, but couldn't, but anyway: U-tube is often dubious).
In this story, for example as soon as I heard the knight Galahad mentioned I realised it was put together by a non-historian as Sir Galahad was seconded from the King Arthur legend (Holy Grail) and there is no evidence that any of the Knights of the Round Table, let alone the Round Table or the Holy Grail really existed. The Grail story is a beautiful metaphor for the human longing for salvation and it also exists as a French story; or possibly it made its way into England via the Norman conquest.
Numerous scholars have tried to prove that King Arthur and his knights actually existed as it would be wonderful to find 'King Arthur' as the progenitor or rather Father of British History, but so far, no joy. Taurisk
