    I suspect the longing for evidence of the Noachian flood is nothing to do with the search for reality but everything to do with hope.
    Along the lines of ... "If the Noah flood happened then perhaps all the rest is true and a heavenly reward awaits me."

    No surprise that your constant insistence on, as Thomas would say, "Show me the puncture wounds !" is perceived as a cruel blow to the hopes of those who presumably have nothing more than hope.

    I'm of the opinion that exposing the fragility of the hopes of those who have nothing else to ease their suffering is probably not a compassionate direction ... even though it may be "true".
    However, that is not hard and fast and depends on whether those are sincere hopes or as is the case with most on HC, just arrogent self assurance aimed to exclude those who have a different view.
