Funny Barry Marshall gets most of the news cycle. Robin Warren, a very quite guy, loved photography, probably a little OCD, happy working in a lab for many many year, (who I knew), was the guy who came up with the idea after first showing the Helicobacter pylori bacteria lived in the stomach wall, stomachs highly acidic environment. That was the part no one believed. He also invented the breathe test to locate the bacteria. Look at Robin's page in Wikipedia compare to Barry's, it all feels a bit unfair
Barry Marshall was the seller, as well as assistant at UWA with the resources, who took the idea to the world by drinking a mixture of bacteria then cure, a bit like Dr Jekyll. I am sorry but I could have done that too,
Often the case that a team of 2 is required, the entrepreneur and the detailed worked. The entrepreneur is the one that is remembered.
Lest not forget the Robin Warren's of the world!!
