    the management have come out and defended the whole thing poorly when they clearly are prepared to sell.
    Talks with zfx would have resulted possibly in a $1.05-$1.10 offer given managements support but now the whole thing is hostile and zfx may stick to their guns.
    look at JBM management accepted $23 and still trades below that today. so have xstrata overpaid? the market says they have.
    the market contains speculators that can affect the price in the short term. Also the hedgies may accumulate a large enough stake to give them some bargaining power to get $1.10 from zfx.

    interesting times.
