That's a good read NM, and I have no doubt that happens in varying degrees in most stocks.

Even hiring someone to attack the guy who had earlier written glowingly about the company. (This is not a game for the faint-hearted!)"


This is a very familiar tactic on this very forum, the constant attack of a very prominent poster on this forum shows this.

Most of the manipulators that have come on this forum either initially say they're a new investor and will be friendly for a week or two and then start to throw in negative comments, after that when everyone recognises them for what they are, then they really turn nasty with straight out lies.

The second way these guys work, is to ask a question in their post that they already have a negative answer to, that way they make it look like they're conversing with you when really they just need another poster in the conversation, they don't care what the other poster says, as long as they get their negative point across (several posters on this very forum do exactly that), remember these guys need you in the conversation to keep making their negative points, they need a reaction from normal posters or their efforts were useless, if they can't get a bite from normal posters they start posting to one another, and it happens on a daily basis.

It's all about money, if they can help use negative sentiment to shake the tree they will, there's also several posters on this forum who admit to being shorters, the timing and content of their posts is easily recognisable.
