I recall the AK saying that these non-core exploration projects were acquired to make the original company IPO look more attractive to the market.
The company has only ever been singularly interested in developing the Walhalla gold field.
Having committed the minimum spend on these projects to farm-them-out, they retain an exposure to the upside (should exploration result in a significant mineral discovery) BUT, they do not have to commit any further expenditure or management time.
So, a very good outcome for GDR. And, now it is back to the development and commercialisation of the main company asset - the Walhalla Goldfield!
