I am not 100% sure, but I think what they did in rabbits was dosing etc and essentially the results from rabbits are almost irrelevant except they have to be pretty good or you don’t get to proceed to NHP. NHP results HAVE to be good. I presume whatever the rabbits were for has already got the tick.
