Adder - not stealing your thunder (the 'non lethal' publication was your find first) but as it's early days of discussion - to get the heading right I have updated your stated '2010' typo in the thread title to make it the correct '2012' in the title of the thread. Hope that's OK and doesn't just make for confusion?
Anyway to make it easier for those that haven't seen it your relevant link to the publication is reproduced here again:

I notice there is no mention of MST in that US DoD non-lethal Report. But there is no mention of anyone else really - no worries there as it is a background public document.
MAUL
Leaving aside the MPM stuff for now - I'd like to zero in on the Maul production timeline for the moment. In general, the more I poke about - the choice of competing military weapons systems is arguably bewildering. Basically information overload for normal people?
Back to the 2012 book - if you see p9 they feature having recently taken delivery of 1,900 M26 modular underslung shotgun systems which do door breaching etc . A description of the M26 and it's development at this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M26_Modular_Accessory_Shotgun_System
It is interesting that the M26 system has been under development since late 1990's and is only now in limited production. Specifically, in May 2008 the US army apparently announced it would procure 35,000 units, with an initial contract of 2,500 units. Yet it has taken to 2010 to field a few, and it seems late 2011/early 2012 is when 1,900 of them are just being received on the ground in Afghanistan.
While the M26 is 'in the bag', I see it is currently being hailed as the 'most tested, most reliable, and the lightest shotgun in the Army's inventory'. But I note these things have a magazine load system - overall they are not a patch on the electronic Maul, and must be significantly heavier.
The other encouraging thing for MST shareholders is to realise that MST's overall timeframe on the Maul production has actually been relatively good (short) compared to the M26 details. And the Maul is clearly a superior rate of fire and lighter piece of kit to boot!
