Perhaps my ignorance, but self-funded retirees have lots of money, so presumably pay tax. If they earn more than $100k they do not get the $900 in line with everyone else. If they earn less than $100k and paid tax they get the $900?
As a general observation, IMHO, the seniors tax offset and various other age based benefits should be removed as they provide benefits on basis of age and not need. Plenty of families doing it tough need more money than self-funded retirees
