Smithy, What I did at the spin-off was to price TGZ at the initial price of $2.97, this was the price that they entered the market in early December. From my initial investment in MDL I deducted the value(?) of the TGZ shares at this price, the remainder I used to calculate the cost of my consolidated MDL shares.
In my Commsec account I was able to enter these values, I am not sure what you can do on E Trade.
I topped up on more MDL today hoping I am not catching a falling knife, at this stage I will consider it as dollar averaging. I feel confident in the management and mineral sands market atm.
