Well, yes, smearing your enemies whilst attempting to do the exact same thing without anyone noticing is a part of the art.

This is the game politicians have been playing for decades now, perhaps since forever. Who can manipulate the general populace better? "Let me show you how it's done" type of attitude. Thank goodness we have a pretty robust legal system here, otherwise it'll just be a bunch of criminals running rampant in our Parliament.
