You summed it up well @Cyberne11 yes users bases are worth something.

The clincher though is that they need to be active, engaged and in big numbers. So far, even after close to $5million in marketing - they have no where near enough numbers to be worth anything material. The ones so far don't appear (from the stats which they have stopped releasing) to be particularly engaged.. and play and apple store stats aren't showing that trend changing yet.

So without virality, organic growth getting a meaningful user base will be a difficult exercise.

Then as you say, its much more than just having users, its knowing them and milking money from them.. even harder!
