Some nice travel tips on the ' Don't Do ' side of the ledger courtesy of Loui.... lol........
What a bastard though. I am actually in the process of organizing a trip with My Wife and 18 year old Daughter who will be finishing year 12 in a month and have Just renewed my Aussie passport with my Daughter obtaining her very FIRST passport.
My Canadian passport has now expired but I still have my Canadian wallet sized Birth certificate from when I came to OZ in 1988. Not sure if that would suffice entry into US or Canada as all airport check through's are electronic and geared to the passport document. However in a pinch I would certainly try. Will no doubt suffice though if i'm travelling across the Canadia / US border via vehicle.
Anyways , I had thought about doing a road trip into Quebec either up from New York City or across from Kingston , Ottawa , or North Bay ( whichever way I ended up taking my wife and daughter sightseeing ). I have an Auntie and Uncle who now live just outside Kingston and my daughter and missus really want to see something on Broadway on a 2 or 3 night layover in NY.
I think how I would do it as against Split's and Loui's style is that I'm not so much fussed about seeing the mine and plant as I am about lobbing into town and spending a night or 2 with locals while I enjoy a Ski outing at Mt Video. I would of course introduce myself as a Sayona shareholder and maybe even reveal my knowledge of a certain poster named SB . But I would just rather hang out with the good folk who work at the mine and get more of an ' under the radar ' vibe if I could of what the rumor mill is suggesting.......
Heads of La Motte if you come across a Canadian with a hint of an underlying Aussie accent over the top of his french......He he .... You'll know straight away its SB.......
I would then extend my drive up through Chibougamau to Moblan just to see how many rigs were in action and the rough distances being pegged out. Heck maybe if I could befriend one of the local , they might even accompany me up there if they know the area better.
That's how I would do it. I would take lots of pics of the scenery and remoteness , rail infrastructure and existing and former PAPER MILL's..... as well.
I would probably spend a good 3 to 5 days doing this and then double back down through Quebec City via Becancour so see how the ground is being broken there as well as show my daughter the experience of the bery European ' Old France ' culture of Quebec City. Plus I reckon they may have ALL their Christmas lights powered up by then .
I would then head back down and through to Niagara Falls ( because there is another place I would like to see what's what , and then back to Oakville Ontario and the family as well as the Ford Plant before flying out back to OZ.
We were planning on spending a good 4 or 5 weeks over there plus a couple days in California with particular emphasis on Disney Land.
In closing , I just want to say good on Split & Loui for their efforts, and I hope they have lots of memories of their catch-up. But of course the Markets never get in the way of a good story and unfortunately don't seem to really ascribe much value to narrative like this and to be honest , I don't reckon having me there would have made much difference to the outcome given what Loui stated about Brett's endeavor to develop a ' co-operative ' voice from Retail holders.
PS , love the teeth Loui......LOL.....
Reminds me of my own good self with my evening suit from Rossini of Bond St together with my ruffled purple shirt from Signor Byritti and my platform shoes .....ALL necessary garments courtesy of the Australian Taxpayer and for that planned Diplomatic cocktail party where dental hygiene is so so important.......
