North Korea has more artillery than any other country in the world. These massive armaments are concealed deep in the mountain ranges close to the DMZ (border) and pointed directly at Seoul.
If they wanted to, North Korea could destroy Seoul (close to the border) in a day or two without the use of any nukes and without the rest of the world being able to do much to stop it.
There is very little oil on the Korean peninsula.
