north korean threats

I know there is a major sell and has been for ages but perhaps the North Korean issue is causing some apprehension:

"..... A Japanese newspaper says that country's defence ministry believes North Korea might launch a ballistic missile towards Japan's Okinawa Island, Guam or Hawaii.

    US tracking ship

Meanwhile, American officials say the vessel they are monitoring, called Kang Nam, is based in North Korea and became "a subject of interest" after leaving a North Korean port on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, will not say what has made the US suspicious about the vessel.

"I wouldn't go into any kind of details at this particular point in time except to say that it's very clear that the resolution prohibits North Korea from shipping these kinds of materials," he said.

It is unclear if the US plans to ask to board the ship to inspect it.

The UN measures adopted last week banned all weapons exports from North Korea and most arms imports into the country.

They authorise UN member states to inspect North Korean sea, air and land cargo, requiring them to seize and destroy shipped goods that violate the sanctions.

The US Navy and the Pentagon both declined to comment."
