HT - there is an interesting RIO presentation on block caving mining and North Parks released to the ASX last year. It is well worth a read for some more info on block caving mining in general. One interesting point is that block cave mines take a number of years to reach full production.

RE Nrth Parks, I agree it would be a good fit at the right price. My understanding is the mine has reserves to 2024 and resources to support mining well into 2030 and beyond. They would also acquire some valuable operational knowledge with the mine, which could benefit Big C. I am guess that TB is happy with his decision to hang onto the M&A cash as negotiations are swinging in the favour of the buyer.
