The thing is though, if NAIF make an equity investment, it needs to compete with private sector on price. There are plenty out there that will put equity into this project. The chairman and Jan Cameron recently contributed at 3c per share, Nissui made a significant investment at 10c per share. If there is guarantee of project progressing I’m sure many would stump up for well more than 10c per share. Presumably the equity is something of a compensation for debt financing and the two would be linked. But if NAIF wants to contribute equity with potential significant upside to their investment then they are just another investor, albeit with deep pockets...
